Charles Durning appears as the legendary baseball manager Charles Dillon "Casey" Stengel in this one-man show presented before a live studio audience.

After narrowly escaping an encounter with a vicious gang of street punks called the Purple Dragons, Casey Jones vows to single-handedly rid his neighborhood of crime. Armed with a golf bag loaded with clubs and sporting a fearful hockey mask, Casey stalks the alleyways by night, mercilessly trouncing any delinquents unlucky enough to cross his path. The misguided crusader soon goes off the deep end, and an unlikely ally from the sewers is forced to intervene before the vigilante annihilates every criminal in the city.

Recently divorced Bénédicte Marceau decides to leave Paris and move back to her hometown of Nantes with her daughter Rose. But painful memories await her there - When she was just 16, Ben's Jehovah's Witness parents forced her to give up her newborn son just hours after his birth. A decision that drove Ben to run away from home and leave Nantes. Her son's existence is a painful secret that Ben has kept from everyone else in her life. Nantes offers Ben the hope of a fresh start. Bolstered by her job as a reporter, the childhood friends she will be reunited with, and her daughter Rose, Ben hopes to build a new life for herself in Nantes. As a reporter, her job is covering criminal cases. But she's not one to simply pass along official statements. She likes to do her own investigating, out in the field. Because Ben never gives up, even if means breaking the law or violating procedures. An attitude that soon has her butting heads with Laurent Wagner, the local police captain.

The story of a boy named Ben who enjoys his simple countryside life and is forced to move to a highly ranked school where he doesn't fit in. The rest of the movie shows how Ben is driven mentally insane by his selfish mother.

Casey is upset about having struck out his last chance at bat but his wife suggests they have a son to follow in their dad's footsteps. Eventually, a child is born but, to Casey's dismay, it's a girl, not a boy. His wife suggests they try again several more times but each time, it's still another girl. Casey is depressed but his pals tell him that in spite of everything, they still make a powerful baseball team. Casey likes the idea and accepts. However, the day of the big game, he is nervous that one of them will strike out and attempts to make the last home run himself disguised as one of his own daughters.

Young Casey comes from a family of racehorse trainers, and his best friend, a foal called Casey's Shadow, may just be a champion.
